Hi,
I am in the process of making a cheap ESXi 5.5 box for using in my lab at home.
The following are requirements:
Able to run:
- 1x: Windows 2k12 server (only for AD connection)
- 2-4x: low demand linux servers (tops 2gb ram each)
- 1x untangle vm (router-like os based on debian!?)
- 1x pfsense vm (router-like os based on freebsd)
- 5x check point boxes
My biggest concern is what kind of CPU I will use.
I will use either NFS storage or iSCSI
The options I am looking at right now are the following:

vs

anyone have any suggestions to the choices, which one is "better" than the other one.
Any issues with either of the build?
Which one gives the most "bang for the buck"?
The initial price for the intel version is a bit higher, but the energy cost for the amd one will be higher, not by much but still higher.
If anyone have ANY suggestions, please feel free.
Thanks in advance
