I'm seeking a specification advise concerning vSphere 6 and Fault Tolerance (FT) in conjunction with virtual IDE controllers.
Problem

When trying to enable FT, vSphere 6 complains as follows:

Device 'Hard Disk 1' uses a controller that is not supported.

My suspicion is that vSphere 6's FT no longer supports guest VMs with IDE controllers/disks.
- Can someone confirm that by experience?
- What I'm actually looking for is some kind of official document, confirming that assumption reliably. Can someone pinpoint me towards..?
