Do we have any document for Deep dive about vpshere cloning process , which include each and every background process.
As my understanding once Cloning started below process will follow:
Hot Clone/Online Clone :
1,source VM snapshot will be created
2,target VM will be created
3,copy the data from parent vmdk file(Before the snaphsot take state) to target VM
4,once data copied to target VM and commit the snapshot on source VM
Cold Clone/Offline Clone :
1,target VM will be created
2,copy the data from source VM vmdk file to target VM
