ESXi I/O Performance on new Hybrid RAID controllers? Adaptec maxCache

Ok so I am putting together a new ESXi Host for our upcoming move to vSphere 5 and I am considering a product by Adaptec that is commonly referred to as "Hybrid RAID" . From what I can tell this basically allows you to configure SSD drives to be deticated for "Cache". I will have a total of 6 physical SATA3 drives at 3 Terabytes each in a RAID 10 with two 120gig SSDs setup for the caching.

Does anyone out there know if this setup would be beneficial for an ESXi install or would this type of Array not function in a VM Host environment the way it would is say a Windows svr 2008 system? I don't want to waste my money but I need Max IOPs without going SAN.
